The Upside of Falling by Alex Light
It’s been years since seventeen-year-old Becca Hart believed in true love. But when her former best friend teases her for not having a boyfriend, Becca impulsively pretends she’s been secretly seeing someone.
Brett Wells has it all. Being captain of the football team and one of the most popular guys in school, he should have no problem finding someone to date, but he’s always been more focused on his future than who to bring to prom. When he overhears Becca’s lie, Brett decides to step in and be her mystery guy. It’s the perfect solution: he gets people off his back for not dating and she can keep up the ruse.
Acting like the perfect couple isn’t easy though, especially when you barely know the other person. But with Becca still picking up the pieces from when her world was blown apart years ago and Brett just barely holding his together now, they begin to realize they have more in common than they ever could have imagined. When the line between real and pretend begins to blur, they are forced to answer the question: is this fake romance the realest thing in either of their lives?

this book was a super fun read. It was rightly paced and the chemistry was sooo good. It was genuinely an enjoyable read.
okay quick point , i feel like the wattpad version of this is wayy better . i mean this doesnt even have an epilogue . okay yeah maybe for the sequel stuff, but nontheless the wattpad version is better.
I couldn’t agree more, the wattpad version had a beefier plot. I feel like this version was wayyy over edited.
This book was cuter than expected. The romantic progression between the characters was paced nicely. It was nice to see that both characters handled their conflicts in relatively healthy ways. Nice to see an author using Wattpad and other sites being able to publish quality work. There are some really talented authors there but they often get buried with nonsense.
Only thing I wanted more to happen: Romeo and Juliet bashing. It took me back to my freshman English class, when I was 15 and wrote an essay about Romeo being trash and ruining everyone's lives. Oh, the struggle of reading books with horrible male leads that destroyed the lives of various women. Actually, that course was quite morbid, people died in every reading assignment; the teacher also made us write a bucket list and detail how we envisioned our funerals. Dark.
This book is really good. I loved every single character especially the heroines, Brett, and Becca. They were so cute together.
Cute book, great for Wattpad readers.
