A human female born into a breeding manor never has a choice…I am a slave, but at least I am alive.

When the man with wings and scales gave me a second choice—I took it. The others of his kind pin me with hungry eyes, but I’ll do what I must to survive. I’ll preside over their Draken Games—and choose a winner every night to share my bed. The alternative is death.
Traded from one prison to the next I have but one hope left—the Lost Siren. I must find her before the demon hordes come if these men—Drakens—have any chance of escaping their mountainous prison, and me along with them.

I was bummed out on this one.

It held the promise of maybe being a pretty good dark romance/reverse fantasy harem with a badass female character - the biggest drawbacks are the confusion at times with what is happening (pacing, story flow, etc) and the absolute toxicity of the most prominent male lead (Benedict-the king) with no real redemption arc, btw- just a sad backstory that unravels as he continues to completely abuse and neglect the novels main character, Wren. He punishes her often, verbally abuses her CONSTANTLY, calls her a “breeding cow” at one point, and has the nerve to be angry that she’s ignorant of everything despite the fact that he handpicked her from a brothel in which she was isolated for seemingly her whole life. The most promising green flag romantic interest (who comes as a package deal with another guy who barely controls himself) is pretty much sidelined as a secondary character that she sometimes bumps uglies with. The sex scenes are also strange and kinda weird and unnatural in the way they happen/flow.

lots of mistakes and plot holes, just seems unfinished or unedited and the characters + plot just aren’t compelling because of that
