She’s looking for Mr. Right. I can offer her Mr. Right Now.
That’s my specialty.
He’s my best friend’s older brother.
He was also my teenage crush and completely out of reach.
But we had our secrets—moments that nobody knew about.
I’d tucked them away in a safe place, and that’s where I’d planned to keep them.
He’d moved to the city, and I’d moved on.
But now he was back in Honey Mountain for a few weeks.
And he’d found endless reasons to spend time with me.
What started out as rekindling our friendship turned into a different kind of… stroking the fire.
No pun intended.
It was temporary.
Just another secret that we’d keep between us.
Ledger Dane came with an expiration date.
He’d always been one foot out the door.

The ending was quick. While their whole 'relationship" took miles to even get stable and to a good spot, she quickly forgave him and then he proposed. In what world is that believable. This book made me mad In case you can't tell. Charlie had potential of strong character but that blew away in few seconds. Just like any other romance book nowadays I guess where people just jump from heartbreak to marriage.

Writing was good but soooo disappointed in the characters. First of all, Ledger was a wreck of a guy. Baggage he held on for too long and let it affect those around him and for him. Due to his father's lack of goodness, Ledger carried the weight for family. He is a good guy for his family but treated Charlie like trash because he couldn't commit. Everyone around him, including Charlie kept making excuses except Nan, the only likeable character. Kept saying that he's not at fault for his father which is true. But everything else is of his own actions. He got too much leeway and there was no groveling like Nan wanted. I felt like Charlie got cheated because she held onto him for too long and never got a break to heal.
