Sophia never thought she was unlucky until she was kidnapped by aliens. Twice…
Sophia had simple expectations for her planetary tour. She assumed she’d see the sights, meet new people, and fend off her boredom. She never thought she’d end the trip as an alien captive. But here she is, the guest of a grumpy, sexy, warrior king who looks at her like he’s not sure if he wants to kill her, or claim her as his own…
Sikthand hadn’t planned to take the stubborn little human hostage. But with political tensions at an all-time high, he had no choice. He would unflinchingly use her as a bargaining chip to secure better relations with the new Tremantian ruler. He would not, however, fall prey to her charms. No matter how tempting she might be…
When Sophia and Sikthand realize how far their enemies are willing to go to grab galactic power, they’re forced into an unlikely alliance—and possibly a marriage of convenience—to protect their people. It’s a good plan, too…if they don’t do anything irrational along the way. Like falling in love…

But damn, thinking more about this, "Using Fejo" was only bad for me because I didn't like that character since before the book. I guess it blurred my opinion

There's a different mood to this one, as if she realized something about the latest book that felt wrong. Although the romance was more deep in other books. This one has a different message about how distrust can kill relationships, and how this couple went through hell to get their love to work and painfully gain small bits of trust throughout the story! This one finally is going right and it made me cry and smile so much! It was so... beautiful... Maybe on the next ones we'll see the romantic aspect being more developed but I guess the author is testing the waters.

After a fall on "Using Fejo", this one book finally got back on track to our interests of the 3 first books. This one had a very good way of veering to the right course, even though we're still far away from the characters of the beginning, finally I've got back to the interesting cultura factor that I liked so much in each of her books. It brought back so many feelings and I think this book is definitely a good sign for the series.

the series is really losing its fire. the first book had me laughing and re-reading moments that I still think about to this day. the characters were great, but after six more books, the series seems to be lagging. the character development is not there, there is no personality in the FMC's train of thought, the romance is especially not there in this book, and I find myself skipping the narrative paragraphs and opting to just read the dialogue. I love this author and hope she can rekindle this series because it is really fascinating and I would love a version of the story done with the sister Asivva and maybe her getting together with a human male? Idk. Once the series starting getting away from the original family, it started to lose spunk.
