I’ve trained hard in medical school and should be more than prepared for my new job.
I’ve mastered my residency and know what’s expected. Plus, I was a star pitcher in softball. I can handle this.
Yet it’s not the hot physiques and charismatic sex appeal of the players I’m concerned with. It’s the big brown eyes and captivating smile from the team manager.
I pray Jeremy isn’t another player, like the members of his team. Because I’m no simple challenge to be met.
I want someone who treats me like they won the pennant. Even if he’s totally off limits.

While I’m a part of the sport I love, I’m on the wrong side of the field. My childhood dream of playing professionally is no longer possible. Instead, I manage a bunch of arrogant ballers living the life I wanted.
Relationships when you live on the road are hard enough. But I’m just a stepping stone for the women I meet. Using me to get to the jock of their choice.
So I’ll stick with a one and done, thank you very much. No need for disappointment when you know the score.
Yet why is it that every time the hot new team doctor is around, I’m tempted for more? Despite all of the reasons, this can’t work.
But this isn’t the type of girl you score a home run with. Landing her would be like winning the World Series.
