Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard
What would make the perfect man?
That’s the deliciously racy topic that Jaine Bright and her three girlfriends are pondering one night at their favorite after-hours hot spot: Mr. Perfect. Would he be tall, dark, and handsome? Caring and warmhearted — or will just muscular do? As their conversation heats up, they concoct a tongue-in-cheek checklist that becomes an overnight sensation, spreading like wildfire at work and sizzling along e-mail lines. But what began as a joke among friends turns deadly serious when one of the four women is murdered….Turning to her neighbor, an unpredictable police detective, for help, Jaine must unmask a killer to save her friends — and herself. Now, knowing whom to trust and whom to love is a matter of survival — as the dream of Mr. Perfect becomes a chilling nightmare.

I so liked this book and sassy Jaine and her hot cop neighbour Sam. They were such a great couple the banter between the two kept you laughing and would have liked more to build the chemistry up. The thrill of the stalker and murders had the reader gripped to the book and was well paced and had you on the edge hoping they will catch the killer. Great romance between Sam and Jaine with an insta attraction romance but would have liked their relationship taken a slightly longer route to build more chemistry between the two. The story revolved around Jaine and her friends, they added some laughs at the start but were the focus of the killer’s attention. The Mr Perfect List got centre stage but it would have been nice to have a copy of the full list with the girls comments to add more humour to the story. Even though the book kept you engaged the ending felt rushed and no epilogue, would love to see more of Jaine and Sam’s bickering as it was funny. Nice touch to include Jaine’s family and her girlfriend’s lives and relationships as well. This book could have had a few more chapters to flesh out some more details. The technology was a little dated and needed to be brought up to current trends to add more realism. Loved BooBoo the cat and the reverence to the Detroit love of classic cars. Great book won’t disappoint.
