This book was just meh 🙃 the first book is still my number 1.
Xavier was definitely a lot different from Ana's other MMCs. I like the brooding, mysterious, dark vibes that most of her MMCs have but it can get a touch repetitive. Xavier was open, honest about his feelings and so adorably charming. I loved that Sloane was level headed, confident, rich and successful. I love reading such FMCs because personally the relationship feels more balanced in terms of power. She was a perfect match for Xavier. Its also refreshing to read a book where characters didnt shy away from clearly communicating instead of letting misunderstandings get in their way. That being said the first book in this series is still my number 1 but this is now my number 2.
But what happened to the sabotage??? Do they leave the plot line ?
I guess that will be revealed later on in the series with the way it was phrased. I am also sus of the 2 seperated scenes where Xavier and Slone ran into a green eyed guy who seemed familiar to them. It all seems inter related

Am I the only one who thinks that none of the books of this series is comparable to "King of Wrath. I mean this book is good". But I feel like it's only some business strategy which kept going on & on, leaving the romance behind!

This was good..a lot of plots and descriptively established backgrounds for both the leads. It could've been sexier tho I felt like the romance was just not satisfying enough, like they knew each other for 3 years and no impulsive action by anyone ever and all of a sudden, the air is cackling, so to say. Also, I loved sloane's comebacks to her family, absolutely badass. What disappointed me was the missing epilogue, like no proposal or even talk of marriage or babies? Come on! So this was a 3/5 for me
If someone said Ana's book's were "mid" or "meh", this book will prove them wrong in all shapes and forms .I've been waiting for this book since king of wrath and i swear it did not disappoint even a bit Sloane and Xavier are so different but fit so well .I loved how Ana showed the couples own life and how they have grown as people and are so much more then what a person can see.Feel like they have dethroned Isa and Kai from my favorite couple from this series. And the small cameo's of the characters from the twisted series made an OG reader squeal. Hands down a 10/10.had so much fun reading. Devoured this in 2 hours and cant wait for book 5 and the striker coming in Sep 2024.
