Holy fuck I'm never reading reviews before the book ever again. Fuck this. Anyway, I find it always sad when I see a media with such depth and thought and feedback as shallow as Everest. There wasn't much gay sex, the thing I came here for lol. Even if there were, they were uncomfortable. But there definitely were some serious character dynamics, dynamics overlapping n shit. I definitely loved the first book, it was exactly what I wanted and searching for, tho wasn't planning to read the next, I did anyway. Pretty happy to find Shawn n professor cameos. And yeah, the characters, people aren't lying when they say they have depth, so much so some people just don't grasp it lmao. They had more in this than the previous one. It was majorly of what this book was. Being imperfect. Yeah, what's the point of "acting" perfect, knowing very much you're not perfect, you're just restraining yourself and that shit never turns out good. That's Alex. Chris, might seem shallow, and he is, as compared to other characters, he doesn't have much lore, not that every character has to. He's prolly just an average guy on the streets who sleeps around n shit. Glad it was explained why tho, it makes sense. Lastly, Mila, I didn't exactly expect her to be deep at all, just someone bitter about losing her boyfriend maybe, but naw. I like what this book did, using her as a, uh, comparison to Alex's broken childhood and his mother. Alex's family complications acting as an example to Alex handle the situation was my favorite part about this book. Alex ain't perfect, nobody is. He doesn't know what love it either. He got the answer to all those questions at the very last and I loved it when it all just came together. VERY understandbly, he didn't want Mila to end up like his mother, someone he hates for clutching into someone that has no hope. And also knowing what years of restraining himself to be perfect at all times did to him, make his real self even worse. I love how he just acknowledges his bad side, probably not as bad as his father, but he hates himself, saying Mila doesn't deserve him, just like his mother, of course bringing in his family complications and what he learned from them. What ended up happening was actually appropriate, Alex finally stopped acting like someone else and found somebody he actually loved. Mila left respectfully, no tantrums happened and she still didn't despise him, will probably get along as friends. There's something I gotta say about the way relationships are handled and tied across books but my mind is in knots just comprehending them lmao, just to say, I appreciate them lol. Yeah, loved this book, not as much as the first one cuz bias but loved it anyway, I don't do ratings fuck it

I hated this book, chris was basically a sexual harasser if you think about it and he was as annoying as a talking chipmunk and alexander a lying heartless cheating bastard with 0 personality, and like someone else said, on goodreadds, almost all the positive reviews try to defend their actions, gimme a freakin break. but people see what they wanna see i guess, it's beyond sad. the characters were like ones ive seen in many other books but in this one there were no redeeming qualities in the end. It was also too unrealistic and cringe for my taste.
Damn I loved this book. The characters where unique. I loved how Alexander was all about control and being perfect, how he hide himself behind a wall that chris was able to bring out. I felt that chris and Alex deserved each other. I felt so sad for Alex's girlfriend but in the end she deserves to find someone who would love her truly in ways Alex couldn't

Totally agree. Some readers can't see it but each character is unique in looks and personality.
Loved this one. Author Alessandra Hazard's series is marvelous because each story is terrific and different from other stories in the series. Each stands out on its so you don't feel like you are reading the same story with minor differences and main characters names change.
