Opal Morgan was always meant to be mine.
And she was, right up until I let everyone else inside my head and threw her away.
Six months after our last goodbye, I was on another lackluster date, regretting my life choices, when I finally saw her again.
She took my breath away for more than just one reason, the biggest being the well-rounded baby bump she couldn’t hide behind her bulky sweatshirt.

Marshall Kennedy was my one true love.
There had never once been a doubt in my mind, even as everyone around us tried to tell me that a love like ours could never last.
Then, one day out of the blue, he told me it was over and just like that, he walked out of my life.
I had to tell him my news via text and all I got back was that it didn’t make a difference. Goodbye meant goodbye.
So, why was he surprised when he finally saw me again?
Maybe it was just wishful thinking on my part, or bittersweet regret on his, either way, he was back and now I was the one second guessing everything.

*This is an 88,948 word, standalone novel. It is more women’s fiction and relationship drama than romance, but it does end with an HEA. The only CW for this is that there is NO CHEATING, but there are other interactions for characters during a breakup. If that’s an issue for you, then you shouldn’t read this book!

I disagree with the authors note stating there was "no cheating". MMC claimed he only saw himself getting back together with FMC but sleeps with another woman- this feels like cheating in my opinion. And never any mention of him getting STD tested after our any follow up with the OW "possibly getting pregnant" storyline that was mentioned several times.

Drama is my thing - but one thing the author needs to be careful about is details and timelines. I felt her pregnancy due date jump all around. Then the FMC claims she switched phone numbers but then didn’t. The nanny stayed the night but disappeared like she wasn’t there the next morning. It’s just me, I’m a stickler for odd details. Oh but this one pulled on my heartstrings. I also agree with some of the comments made before me about struggles that should have been more developed. I do want to point out one thing, as one of the family members it was pointed out, gave whiplash on their personality, it needs to be brought to light that there was an underlying issue there that was addressed as to the personality changes. Side note, everyone needs a Ryker in their life ❤️.

No spicy parts, angsty drama story. Not really my thing so I can't be entirely objective. One big complaint was the rehashing of the argument over and over. MMC screwed up big time, don't get me wrong, but it's brought up 3 times a chapter. We get it. Let's hear about how she struggles with her career or adapting to being a mom. Also, the side characters in his family, switch back from contrite to vindictive enough times to give you whiplash.
