I’m desperate, so I hire the meanest, most brutal-looking bodyguard I can find.

But my grumpy savior makes me tingle all over…
My ex-boyfriend has been threatening me, trying to bully me back. He even broke into my home last night and rifled through my stuff, so I’m freaked out when I scrape together my savings and hire a bodyguard to protect me.
Axel is perfect for the job. He’s big, scarred and rough, with tattoos inked on his skin and a wicked knife at his belt. The first time I see him, I flinch, and that’s exactly what I need.
But as he spends his days and nights guarding me, Axel’s not at all how I thought he’d be.
Underneath that scowl, he’s sweet. Possessive and hot.
And soon I can’t stop craving his scarred hands on me…

Love this. I liked her. But, me, I fell for him pretty fast, lol, minus the beard, ugh. None of that, sadly common now, unnecessary overly dark stuff in there for cheap drama, either.👍 Getting super sick of that in a romance novel, for goodness sake. Dot get me wrong, I'm not into it at all, but I'm not talking about novels that tell you it's a dark romance😕 on the cover or in the summary. This had some funny parts, especially from him. "Shaking him like a naughty kitten"😂. It's short and sweet, lovely ending. First story I read by this author. Even though I've read plenty of novellas I really enjoyed, only to be disappointed at their longer stories, I'm looking forward to checking out her other stories. I'm on the hunt for the currently elusive positive author. Too much unnecessary dark crap and negativity 😒, especially in the alien novels. Happy reading, ladies☺️

Apparently, most of her stories are short, but that's cool with me. Ever notice how they use things🙄 to block any progress between the couple so often (laziness or lack of ability?), like... I dated 1 crappy guy and all males in existence are now like him... even my perfect soulmate who makes me so happy (grr. Ever think, then be alone like you want, cause you clearly don't deserve happiness you simply have to say yes to get? I do.) or he's an alien, what would everyone back on Earth think (even tho I'll never see Earth again and the guy looks identical to a human except skin color and the sex toy in his crotch😍😁) But, in seriousness, the reason they give no explanation past, "He's an alien!, Ugh!" is because that's no different than racism. I get being shocked, etc, but they can't see past the fact that the person is physically different. Plus, I'm, personally, only into stories that have fairly minimal differences like horns, tail, claws. Ahh, felt good to vent, ladies😊 So, short and sweet has higher chance at happy reading for me!🥰
