Its good but its quite long to understand Ava's situation... after 20chapters or so, you would want the story to move faster than it is...
By chapter 30 its getting better... mindful that the story ends around 40ish chapter 😄
Love the ending... this is one story that i wish there is a special special epilogue.. 😄

I loved Ava, her lightheartedness, jokes, sarcasm and big heart. Not so much Eli, even tho the author tried to redeem him as a caring and loving person, for me it didn't negate how awful he was toward Ava.
i was in tears by the end of this book, I swear. It was so good and it had the perfect balance of spiciness and story-line.

As a standalone this book was fine. But the author had written about Eli and Ava since their childhood, giving little snippets of their interaction and moments since Ava was born, it felt like they were going to be grumpy-sunshine childhood lovers. Which given the age gap i understand would have been weird as fuck. But it felt like the author was trying to build a different story over the course of the previous and current series but suddenly switched after realising the 6 year age gap is going to be creepy for childhood lovers. Either the age gap should have been less and this could have been an always meant to be book. Or the she should not have put those EliAva crumbs to build up the hype. Tbh i was fine even when Rina Kent announced it's not going to be childhood lovers because of the obvious. But Ava's personality was also wayyy different than what i expected. I went in expecting idk barbie core Ava and a dark lord Eli i guess and got idk what. And ofcourse, Eli was mean/cruel to Ava when she was younger and was a lot more experienced than her. I have never been more confused, bored and annoyed at the same time reading a Rina Kent book. Especially sad because i had been waiting for this one for a long time.
Phew. I am so glad I'm not the only person who didn't like this one. This story did not pull me in the way the others did.
