I’ve heard stories about the Alphas. Violent soldiers, bred to kill both humans and mutations, whose sole purpose was to balance our survival against the infected.
Until they turned on their masters.
Held as subjects of the Calico research facility, they were forced to endure the gruesome experiments that transformed them into callous savages with hearts as impenetrable as their defenses. More terrifying than the monsters that decimated our world with disease and famine.
In the aftermath of Calico’s collapse, many of the Alphas fled, only to be hunted by our own Legion army. And in their absence, the balance has shifted.
I thought they no longer existed.
Until I met him, the god of monsters.
Now I don’t believe in the stories anymore.
To fall in love with the unyielding heart of an Alpha is said to be impossible.
But to fall in love with a god would be a tragedy.

To Likes Books that replied to my comment: The reason why I dislike the book is because rarely do books switch from a different writing style from one chapter to the next. That is what happened in this book. To me, that isn't consistent. I look at a book's first chapter to see if they ARE first person. If they are, I don't read them. However, this book started at third person THEN switch to first person, ruining my experience and expectations. I expected the book to continue in third person, NOT switch to first person. That is why I said it ruined the experience. Part of reading a book is enjoying the style of the author, like enjoying the style of an artist. One person will prefer one style over another. It is not "wrong" or "rude" to dislike one style while liking another. It is called personal preference. Like I said, had the first chapter been first person, I would not have read this book, but we both know that is now how this books starts. I, again, expected the WHOLE BOOK to be third person, my preferred writing style. Also, if you read the last three letters, I put DNF. When I reached the first chapter and saw it switched writing style, I stopped reading it. I read JUST the prologue and nothing else. Which is a shame because I loved the prologue! I was intrigued and ready for the story. However, the switch in styles completely killed it for me. Therefore I D.N.F it.

Okay I get it. Not trying to shame your personal preference, I have my own preferences, it sounded like you were putting down the author. I understand what your saying. Personal preference is important. Also I thought you got into the story and read almost all of it and then start talking about dislike of how it's written. Knowing you just read the first chapter changes my perspective.

Why is the prologue in third person, but the main story in first person? Ruins the story for me. I dislike first person, and the prologue was good in third person too! Shame. DNF

In my personal opinion, I think you shouldn't complain about a style of writing. That is how the author chose to write it. I understand when someone gives an opinionated dislike about the story, or grammer mistakes. But complaining about the style of writing and putting a book down because of whether or not it is in first person or third person is not very nice. If you found out it's in first person after the prolog and you didn't like it. You didn't have to continue reading it. And if you put a bad rating on a book that sounds like it has a good story, thats just rude. If I know I won't like a book, I won't read it. Or if I do read it, I won't put down the author and their style of writing or what other people like because that's rude. This is just my opinion.
