BTW my review below is 1 star
Obviously, with all the 4-star ratings, a lot of people who read this book enjoyed it. I was hoping for a dark romance but what I read was a story about a male chauvinist with a singular focus on his carnal pleasures and a woman who was used as everyone's doormat.
Enter, Braden Black... self-made millionaire, humble beginnings, a driven and successful businessman, and a behemoth ego he nurtured 24/7. He was drawn to Skye with the sole purpose of saying his sxual appetite.
He makes no secret of his intentions, letting Skye know she's a vessel for his use and then to be dismissed until he's ready once again to "go-for-it."
Skye is weak-kneed and playable for his desires. He continually abuses her verbally, excels in his rudeness, and leaves her hanging. She takes all of this in stride with no concern for her pride. She's employed by a nasty b*tch and again, allows her to take advantage of her and uses her for her own business success.
There was no romance, seduction, or intimacy shown by Braden then suddenly when Skye tells him she's in love with him, he repeats the sentiment repeating just the 3 words, nothing else. I could not believe any sincerity here.
The worst of it ** MAJOR CLIFF HANGER.
