I’ve planned a wedding for a Mafia bad boy, not knowing that I am the bride.

It’s my dream gig, and I’ve planned everything to perfection.
My client, Carlo, is best friends with my stepbrother and is an irresistible older alpha. Pure danger lurks under his tailored Italian suit and the chemistry between us is undeniable.
On the final night of wedding preparations, I’m seduced in the ballroom of his mansion and he thrusts me into ecstasy – breaking my number one rule of never sleeping with clients. Each thrust has amplified my desire for him.
Now, it’s the wedding day, and I’m standing at the altar with a wedding dress on, staring at Carlo, the most notorious crime boss in New York.
What’s worse is that for a wedding gift, I’m presented with my stepbrother’s severed head, decapitating the future I thought I had and chilling me to the bone . . .

Deadly Don's Arranged Vows was about 25-year-old Isabella "Bella" Conte, a wedding planner, and Carlo Vietti, a Mafia Don (his age was never revealed.).

Hired by Carlo to plan his wedding to an elusive bride, Bella was excited about how this particular client would launch her business as a wedding planner. Bella was told to plan the wedding the way she would want hers to be, unaware that she was Carlo's arranged bride.

Although the wedding plans were supposed to be a month-long, things started going sideways and Carlo had to move it up much sooner. Unfortunately for Isabella, that meant she was forced down the aisle and into marrying Carlo against her will. After their vows were said, they were at the reception when things went horribly wrong and Carlo had to reveal many unsavory secrets to his new bride that turned her against him. Unfortunately, her attitude towards him earned her a wedding night that was more borderline rape than it was romantic. But before the night was over, Isabella's attitude went through many levels of adjustment, ending with resignation and acceptance of her fate.

While a lot was going on in this story, the angst and drama levels were pretty decent for the genre of the book. There was plenty of push/pull between the two main characters, and there was enough conflict to hold the reader's interest. It was a great read. It was one of the better mafia stories I've read to date.

Both main characters were well-developed and mature, with plenty of room for growth. My only issue with the whole thing was that it left much of that development out of the book, so most of the growth was off-page.

I gave this story only a four-star rating because it really needed to have more focus on the marriage between the two main characters before it went where it did. Otherwise, it would have received a full five stars.
