One act of defiance bound her to me. Now, I’ll defy the world to keep her.

I’m Sarod the Orc. My ruthlessness is legendary. No one stops me from taking what I want.
And I want her.
Josie. A bold servant girl who dared to steal from me. Now, she’s mine, forced to repay her debt with every hour of service.
At first, I had no intention of anything more. But her spirit, her defiance—they’ve kindled something dangerous in me.
I didn’t realize how far I’d go until I defended her from my rivals. Now she’s not just any human female.

She’s my extreme obsession.
Josie thinks she can resist me. She’s wrong.
Because she’s more than just a servant. She’s the one I’ll risk everything for.

In my world, love is a battle. And for Josie?
I’ll fight to the death.

I think I'm going to officially unsubscribe to this author. Books are repetitive and never live up to the cover or description. I'm bored. This is basically a sports romance. It's a damaged, misunderstood, "football star" (a rose by any other name...), playboy, who miraculous falls for the unassuming, brown haired, servant girl and changes his entire personality because that's "who he really was all along". Neither character is all that likeable or unlikeable. They inspire 0 emotion for me personally. The fact he's an orc is honestly irrelevant. If I have to read "and we talked all night" "Over the last few weeks, we had shared our pasts" "after we had shared all been been through" without 1) telling us time has passed 2) giving any insight of what "emotional" connection the characters have built, I'm going to throw my phone at a wall. It's the author equivalent of "and everyone clapped".
