I thought I was just a normal girl with a normal life and a normal future, but I was wrong.
I was taken by vampires just after my twenty-first birthday, ripped away from my home, my father, and my little sister, just like they’d taken my mother when I was a baby.
There was more to that story than I’d been told, more than I ever wanted to know. She’d made a deal with Heir Alaris to save my life in exchange for her service as a bloodwhore for thirty years, which should’ve been enough to satisfy the debt and allow me to live my life.
But she didn’t make it that long, and Alaris was done waiting for me.
I’d been blood bought.
It was time to pay up.

While the writing isn't horrible. The plot and execution of said plot are lacking and the main characters are quite asinine. Maybe I'm biased, I loath books that use rape/sexual assault as connon fodder, regardless of whether its depicted or implied. That kind of content, the kind that comes with a warning, should only be included if it actually adds to character progression. It should not be a passive and flippant thing. This story wouldn't be effected had that bit been left out and that's telling. Despite all of that, I read all 33 chapters and in my opinion based solely on the "logic" of this world. I'd call it quite stupid, but the chapters are short and it's a fairly quick read. 🤷🏼‍♀️
