FMC and her sister grew up and lived in the town with the townspeople. In a span of a couple weeks suddenly they're the victims of riots, witch hunts, vandalism, and verbal harassment from all the 'sweet old church ladies.' Only at the very, very end of the story is there a pathetic 'oh, so sorry' from a singular church lady and all is well again. Most of the book is violence towards the FMC and her sister. Had higher hopes for this book based on it's blurb.
