A desperate debutante…
It’s all too much. At least that is how Lady Samantha feels as she slips out into the snow to build a snowman. With her first season bearing down on her, she’d give anything to have her mother’s guidance one last time. But certainly, it isn’t that prayer that sends the Marquess of Longley calling at that precise moment. Nor is it her wish that an avalanche of snow fall on the man’s stiff and serious head. But since he’s arrived, she might as well use him to help practice her charms before the official season begins. What’s the harm in that?

A staunch marquess…
She’s as vapid as she is beautiful. That’s Gavin’s official assessment of Lady Samantha. But even he can’t deny he’s tempted. From the clear blue of her eyes to the pure smile she flashes his way, he can’t help but wish he was the sort of man who could just marry the woman he wanted instead of worrying about what was best for his marquessate. Still, the moment he holds her in his arms during his first dance in years, he has to wonder…

What would it be like to follow his heart?
And as he pictures a future where he’s happy for the first time in what seems like forever, he has to ask himself. Should he pursue the woman that is slipping past his defenses or make the choice he knows is right?
Because it can’t be possible that Lady Samantha is both. Can it?

A Snowman Wish for Lady Samantha, Book 4 of the Seasons of Love series, was about Lady Samantha Maxwell, youngest of four sisters to Lord Tobias Maxwell, the Earl of Evans, and Lord Gavin Elderman, the Marquess of Longley. Samantha, being the youngest of the five Maxwell siblings, wanted a season to follow in her late mother's footsteps thinking that, if she did then she would be closer to her mother's spirit. Having met Gavin before the season started, she found herself wanting to try out her charms on him before she entered Society. Gavin, having inherited the title at the age of 18, never really had time to socialize or learn how to woo a woman. His entire focus was on the responsibility of his position. When an opportunity arose for him to do business with Tobias, he grasped it with both hands...and then he met Samantha. While his first impression of her wasn't that great (he thought her vapid and irresponsible), he was still drawn to her. This book, though short and sweet, still had the impact of a full-length novel. Not much drama or angst flowed through the story, nor were there many trials and tribulations most such books have. It went straight to the point of the relationship and never veered from it. While there was an immediate attraction between the two main characters, there really wasn't a great deal of time devoted to their relationship or courtship. It was a very quick, to-the-point story and left much to be desired in way of information. There was hardly any focus on the two getting to know each other. The author didn't bother to build any mystique or strengthen the bond between Gavin and Sam. It just sort of...drifted. It also, like its predecessors, ended with a cliffhanger of sorts. Not my ideal ending, but to each their own, right? Though the book was short and even though it fell short of its three predecessors in the high praise, this story did not earn a five-star rating, but it will still get a place with the rest of the series in the Keeper for the Shelves collection.
